Should I get into reverse macro?

Sorry if this is pretty much a repeat question. I’ve already obtained a macro lens, extension tubes. But I was wondering, with a reverse ring added to my 23mm lens, what differences could I expect in terms of macro photography? For example, would there be a change in working distance or sharpness? I’ve gotten the 7Artisans 1:1 lens for a Fuji XT2. It’s worked for me, but I was wondering if there might be an advantage somehow to using a reversed wide angle. Basically, it could work as an alternative way of achieving macro. AFAIK, there wouldn’t be much difference. I’ve been trying to do mostly between 1:1 to about 4:1 work. I’ve tried using extensions with the 23mm lens but it didn’t allow for much magnification, but also, even if I could achieve 1:1, the distance required between lens and subject would be about 0 mm, literally. Unless I could get TCs, which actually might not be available for the lens, a Viltrox. It’s very interesting knowing the large variety of methods which are available for achieving macro, quite honestly.
