There is a reason it is called "the Brick." It is about the same wait as a brick. A lot of people turned to Fuji because the didn't want to have to hire a Sherpa or rent a pack mule or be a pack mule to carry their camera kit. I am one of those.

And a lot of us came for the image quality and direct controls. I am one of those.

Nice that Fuji makes lenses to suit all types.

Given some of the lenses I've used with former FF kits, I personally don't see where the 16-55 is really a "brick "...but appreciate that my opinion is subjective. Some of my former FF lenses were bricks!

The good news is that there are even smaller bodies than my XT3 available if I want to reduce kit weight when using the 16-55. Most important, I do feel that use of the 16-55 (vs the 18-55 that I also own) is transformative in the same way that the Olympus 12-40 f2.8 was when I bought it to replace my Oly EM5 kit lens.

The 16-55 very much is like a bag of primes (fits what the lens should be called more than calling it a brick).

Yes, the great news is that Fuji gives us many choices...and makes many fine lenses.
