The Old Graflex had a Feature Now Lost or Rare

This is the camera that was associated with reporters and you will see it in old movies with a crowd of reporters each with Graflex cameras and lots of flashbulbs flashings.

I consider the number of design features to be part of beauty. One of those features, that would appeal to any serious photographer, has been largely ignored in the typical cameras of recent decades. The Graflex had the lens mounted on a rail for macro and its lens board could be rotated, tilted and I believe even raised. Maybe the very large film format was also important for this capability. ? The lens could be tilted so that it could focus for example, on a close object on one side of the frame and a distant object on the other side of the frame. For example, a picket fence could be photographed at quite an angle and each picket - or each person in front of the picket fence - could be in focus. That is a beautiful lost feature. More beautiful degrees of freedom.
