In other words, the question is which group of user willing buy X-E series camera?

  1. Existing Fujilike lovers who like dedicated dials.
  2. Leica user who prefer premium body, social attitude, stylish, manual focus lens.
  3. Premium P&S camera user.

Are any existing Leica (camera which social attitude) user willing buy X-E4 instead of another Leica?

Are existing Sony RX100 series (premium P&S which has brilliant auto focus) user willing switch to X-E4?

This comparison to point & shoots is also one that I find particularly puzzling. Again, this is a camera with dedicated dials for shutter speed and exposure compensation, plus a joystick, an extra dial, an Fn buttons plus a couple more besides that.

Basically, it has more buttons and dials than both budget DSLRs, entry level MFT cameras, and professional film based cameras, but because it lacks that rear dial, it's somehow a point & shoot.

When I mentioned Leica, it's not because I imagine the X-E4 will have M users flocking to Fuji, but because people who like the idea of a Leica style camera can actually afford this one. I've been eyeing a CL for a while now, but this new Fuji is basically that, but better, at half the price. Also, not all Leica owners are wealthy dentists. Some have saved up to get a used M9 and a Voigtländer or two, and wouldn't necessarily mind another, more affordable backup body (that has autofocus to boot).

There are already dozens of cameras with deep grips and buttons all over the place out there. On the other hand, there are hardly any solidly built minimalist cameras available at all. The GM5 is discontinued without a successor, the CL is very expensive, and the M10 is completely out of reach for most people. Now, there is a very promising, reasonably affordable option.

But because of the omission of a rear dial, it's a useless entry level point & shoot, and the X-E line is dead, I guess.
