I've just bought an extra battery off ebay for my NX20. When I've tried to charge it the charger light flashes orange (had it on for 12hrs). As most of you know the normal sequence is red (not fully charged) to green (fully charged). So has anyone any idea as to why this is happening? When I put the battery into the camera everything seemed fine, i.e. showing as fully charged. I've not had the time to use the camera for more than a few minutes to see if the battery drained in an unusual way...and it hasn't.

Cheers

Adrian

You may have a bad battery, just keep an eye on it and make sure its holding a decent charge. I have had an after market go bad like this in the past.

Thank you. I've already tried that and it makes no difference. I also put a Samsung branded battery in and it reverts to the normal red light then green.

The instruction in the manual implies that sometimes the battery may be in an abnormal state, perhaps just a temporary glitch. If it didn't clear when you reset it, there's a good chance it didn't charge properly. You'll only find out by how long it lasts when you use it. Perhaps it will accept charge once it has been used. Perhaps not. The aftermarket batteries can be a bit of a lottery.

I would not use that battery if I were you. It could somehow damage the camera.

I had the same issue. I bought 2 aftermarket batteries for NX20 from HAMA. One was causing charger blinking orange => dead on arrival. Fortunately no issues with the replacement in my case.

Help. I have this exact problem and I tried out your answers but it didn't help at all. When I took out the battery and put it back in and did the same with the charge it flashed red once but then went back to orange.

This problem is usually with the power source. If you are using an after market charger it might be lower power output. With most electronics it still works just takes longer, but the charger is recognizing that there isn't as much power going to the battery as there should be. This is also why they say to take the battery out then back in, because of its not flush against the metal contacts then same problem, not as much power goes there as should.

When i charging my camera, the battery have orange flash and i continued it. When i wanted to use it, its not fully the battery 😭

Please someone help me

That could mean anything. Mostly when I had that problem my phone would usually ask me to reset or my battery has expired or I need to buy a new phone :-(
