As a photographer, one must certainly have a set of ND  filters. For most purposes, the graduated ND filters will do just fine. There are several companies making these filters. Some inexpensive and some exorbitant depending upon the resin or glass used. If you are starting out, get something that fits your budget and get started. I still use my set of Cokin P ND filters from 15 yrs ago. A few years bought a more expensive 0.9 ND grad filter, but after only a few uses, it became scratched and dinged and less enjoyable. Anyways, do your own research. Setting up filters can be labor intensive but results are worth it.

The first 2 were 2 stacked filters. For the last one I believe it was a 0.6 ND. Have not used hard stop filters. Sorry!
