Makes sense that they would want wide angle photos. A UWA zoom, like the EF-S 10-18mm IS with a EL-100 would be perfect for these.

She did mention she was shooting at 1/200th because of subject movement, so I assumed she as shooting close ups.  Whatever the case, a UWA zoom (I suppose they exist for the M-series cameras?  Or, maybe use a EF with an EF-M adapter?) would be the right lens (IMO) for the photos above.
