When I first bought the original A7r, I did so because the form factor was significantly smaller than my Nikon D90. With the D90, I felt like a paparazzo and it would look out of place in social settings like a restaurant.

The original A7r was about the same form factor as those manual slr film cameras from the '70's and '80's.

Fast forward to the current generation, and they're better everywhere apart from the size. The A7c is a good alternative, but it's a bit thicker.

I think if they re-release the original with the upgraded sensor, processing and autofocus, they could probably sell quite a lot.

Or perhaps maybe not, since I have quite unusual thoughts about cameras!
