I copied the above link and the URL was hidden.

Safari didn't add the outer Google URL wrapper in an attempt to hide things from you.  Safari was just showing you the URL that Google had given to it.

Copying the link into the Location Bar from Google:

https:// www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiY65ybjbPuAhXaT30KHaQNBgUQFjADegQIGxAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ikea.com%2Fsg%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fflower-pots-planters-pp004%2F&usg=AOvVaw1bHSMF2qhKw04MV9i-VXXz

That's the URL that Safari saw.  It's a Google URL.  Its purpose is not to hide the Ikea site, but to cause your browser to trigger Google analytics on the way there.  The "%3A" and "%2F" sequences in the "url=" text appear to be simple escapes for ":" and "/", there not to obfuscate the nested URL, but to keep ":" and "/" from interfering with parsing.

Google doesn't add URL wrappers to all of their search results, but they do seem to do this to most or all of the results from a Shopping search.  It seems likely that merchants pay to be included in Shopping searches, but want to pay based on the number of click-throughs, not simply on the number of times they show up in displayed lists.
