Aperture sticking on Nikon D7500

Hi all, in the last week my trusty D7500 has started behaving oddly.  When in Manual or Aperture priority mode, sometimes the aperture sticks.  That's to say, I move the wheel and the aperture does not change.  There is no physical obstruction to the movement of the wheel.  It happens also on shutter speed in Manual.  I have seen the issue on a variety of DX and FX lenses.  If I depress the shutter slightly, or power cycle the camera, the problem goes away for a while.  It is frustrating when taking a landscape shot and trying a range of apertures

Has anyone seen anything like this on Nikon D-SLR?

Thank you

Configuration of camera:

Manual/Aperture mode, Auto ISO = off, back-button focus
