I am intrigued by what I have read about DSLR scanning and do plan to try it -- it sounds a lot quicker, for one thing.

Using a DSLR (or mirrorless for that matter) you have to do some DIY and fiddle with your setup to get it to work.  Once set up this can be a fast system but it depends on your film holder and how quickly you can move from frame to frame.
