Sunset setting for G1X
1

I recently sort of 'inherited' a canon G1X. I like taking sunset pictures and just after, and my old SX20 has a sunset setting which the G1X seems to lack, even though it has the same scene mode on the dial. Although the G1X pics are very HQ compared to the SX20, the colours are rather cold and disappointing, and I find myself prefering the SX20 for this type of photo. I was wondering if anyone else is still using a G1X and if so what settings would they use for a sunset? I currently have tried it on Program, - 1/3 stop, the balance on sun and Vivid colour. I did try to warm things up by putting it on cloudy, but it didnt make much difference. I only take jpgs as I dont know what to do with Raw.

More generally is the G1X a good camera? It seems quite complicated compared to my SX20.

Thanks

Keri
