How to photograph textured Oil and Acrylic painting?

Hi,

I'm currently shooting two flash strobes at an angle of about 40 degrees from the painting using cross polarization so as to remove glare.

However, using this method, the texture of the painting is not expressed properly.

It looks like a print, not a painting.

When I looked it up on Google, I saw that it should be put lightings and shooting as below.

And when I did the test using one flash strobe with one white foam core, I got to a problem that exposure of left and right side were different.

How do i solve different of exposure? and what is black card above image?

Thank you.
