Cactus transceiver/flash firmware: official response
1

I personally reached out to Cactus Imaging support regarding the status of their firmware update availability, on behalf of other users expressing concerns about this . To put this into context: Cactus withdrew from the flash market at the end of 2020, as announced in this posting on Pentax Forums .

This is Cactus' response via e-mail:

"The server that holds the firmware will still operate at least up to 30 Jun 2021. It may be extended to the year end. We will announce the deadline publicly when we have a decision on the server management in the future. But the current updater will work at least to 30 Jun. That’s the only thing we can promise.

I’m sorry that we do not have the manpower now to design and develop a new update method, as it requires some code changes on all the Cactus equipment.

Thanks for your support all the years,
Cactus Support"

It sounds like users of the V6ii transceiver will need to consider the possibility of locking their devices to a chosen camera system with the appropriate ***.A.00* firmware from June onwards, or choose the multibrand HSS / non-TTL route with firmwares V62.A.001 or 1.1.013.
