I used nikon 400mm 2.8 g with manfrotto monopod

the lens is great but its too heavy when i am moving inside the club, then i used the 500mm f4 e fl with monopod

its great sharp lens but its too big, the best lens is 300mm f2.8 or f4 or 200-400mm f4 and 100-400 4.5/5.6

i tried 200 to 600 sony a9ii but nikon d5 500mm f4 is better colour and best sharper details🏆

The OP last posted on DPR 12 years ago, so I think that horse has bolted - long ago

A good idea to check thread dates before bringing back 15 year old thread to life.

I was reading a thread here once and was surprised to find I had posted in it, but had no memory of doing sol. Then I checked  dates, and found that it was a resurrected thread from over ten years ago, and I had posted in the original series! I could forgive myself for forgetting my post after ten years....
