Thinking of getting the XF 10-24mm F4 OIS for my X-T30

I'm thinking of getting the XF 10-24mm F4 OIS for my X-T30.

My only use is for family videos in our small apartment.

I already have the 18-55 which everything about it is perfect besides for the fact that it's way to close even at 18 and I don't have the option to move back to video the whole scene.

I need image stabilization, since I mostly take videos as I mentioned.

My concern: the 10-24 isn't made for portraits and people and children will come out distorted since the lens is really wide.

Even though this camera isn't for professional work, I take my family video's very seriously and wouldn't want to downgrade from the outstanding quality of the 18-55 not even a bit.

Has anyone used the -10-24 for portraiture, especially videos?
