Canon RP question

I've been pondering the RP, and we needed to go to Best Buy, so I looked at the RP on display.  I brought along a sd card so I could take some shots and examine at home.

The lens on display was the ef 24-105 with the Canon adapter.  Looking through the viewfinder I noticed a blue box around the photo.  (and no I don't mean the blue boxes of Servo mode.  It looked like maybe a different aspect ratio had been selected.  I wasn't familiar enough with the RP's menu to quickly check the aspect ratio.  Pulling up the shots at home in DPP, there is a white box on them where the blue box was.  First I thought maybe if was a Ef-S lens so it was showing the crop.  But it's an ef lens.

Ok after converting the raw image, I'm pretty sure it's aspect ratio?

I'm a full frame rookie.
