Tamron 28-200mm 2.8 vs 28-75 mm 2.8

Hey all! I'm new to photography (I've had a Sony a7c for a few months and love it). I've recently been wanting a little more zoom than the kit lens (which tops out at 60mm) can offer. And in my research, I'm a little confused by something: it seems like Tamron makes two lenses, that are basically the same specs, weight and price except one is a 28-200mm and one is a 28-75 mm. It seems like the 28-200mm gets you way more range for similar weight, price and quality - so I guess I'm asking if there's some kind of catch, or something I"m missing that's dissimilar between these two lenses? Is there any reason I wouldn't want the 28-200 as my daily driver for most uses (mostly food photos and video as well as hiking/travel landscape photos)? Thanks in advance!
