Colour Space & 8 or 16bit in Lightroom (&external)?

Hello,

I have been doing some self research recently regarding Colour Space & bit range when processing & exporting raw images within Lightroom (including sending to external software such as Topaz & PS) and just wanted to some clarification, as to whether my understanding is correct & if anyone has any other tips/advice around it.

So if I have understood correct, because I’m using raw files (from my Olympus camera) and a computer (iMac) that is powerful enough, when I import my raw files into Lr I should have Lr using ProPhoto RGB @ 16bit, as this gives the widest colour range & bit depth.

As I continue through processing and passing the files from Lr to say topaz, I should also ensure the tiff that is created also uses ProPhoto RGB @ 16bit, to ensure consistency with my colours throughout the processing/editing process.

Then the only time in my circumstance I should change this is when it comes to exporting as a jpg, to which I should then ensure my jpg is exported using sRGB @ 8bit, because if iv understood correctly, sRGB is more widely used for online purposes such as Flickr, Facebook, to view on my iPad Pro via flickr too and forums, which is the 4 things I currently use my jpgs for...?

Hopefully I have understood my research correctly & would also appreciate any advice or tips if I have eaither completely miss understood 😆 or if I’m missing anything ect.

Thanks all
