I'm currently using a telescope and a CCTV camera for a webcam. I measured and it's about a 2 or 3 degree field of view. I wanted to replace the setup with my Z50 and a telephoto lens. I have no idea what focal length I would need. Does anyone have any idea?

I'm guessing you are talking about horizontal FOV, but here is some data that might help.

400mm 3.4º hor., 2.2º vert., 4.0º diag.

500mm 2.7º hor., 1.8º vert., 3.2º diag.

600mm 2.2º hor., 1.5º vert., 2.7º diag.

800mm 1.7º hor., 1.1º vert., 2.0º diag.

The world's most expensive webcam it will be :/
