I've got a ZS100 (earlier version of the ZS200) that I've had for years. I've taken it hiking in Alaska, Utah, TX, Spain and various short trips. It's also been cycling in Portugal and Spain and around the US. I've had photos from it win prizes at our local art museum. Never had a lick of trouble with it. Every once in a while I get tempted to upgrade to a ZS200 or RX100 VII, but then I think I'd just be solving a problem I don't have.

My point is not that you should buy a ZS100, I don't think they're even available anymore. My point is that I'm sure the image quality from either of your choices will be fine, you should just choose the one you're most comfortable using.

Both the ZS100 and ZS200 are still available. They have differing zoom ranges, so for a bit more money you get more reach, a better EVF, and improved handling with the ZS200.

If I was in the market for a camera, I'd definitely choose the ZS200 over the ZS100.

I'd choose the ZS200 over the RX100 VII because I don't like the popup viewfinder on the RX, I like the touchscreen on the ZS better, and I like the menus on the ZS better. I'd miss the flipup screen on the RX.
