This is a much quieter image than the usual dam birds, but it is just as powerful. The colours are the same, but the water is just hinted at, instead of leaping out of the frame. Tranquility can be just as powerful as energy. The shadow effect is very cool, too.

I must say I like Mike’s crop, and think it improves what is already a great photo.
