Using manual aperture lens for macro?
Jan 5, 2021
Hello,
I'm considering getting a Laowa 65mm f2.8 2x lens to use with a Fuji X-T3. I don't have any other fully manual lenses to experiment with first....
I've used manual focus before when taking closeup/macro photos but not manual aperture.
How difficult or awkward is it to use manual aperture on a mirrorless camera? I'm wondering if it is easier than SLR because the mirrorless will gain up the light to keep a fairly bright viewfinder picture... might get noisy which might make observing focus harder?
Can i leave the lens set to the aperture i want to shoot or do i have to flip back and forth between wider open and desired exposure setting?
Since there is no communication with the lens will the camera still evaluate exposure when i half press the shutter release?
thanks!
