With the RF 2.x converter there is a reduction in AF area in the entire range, 300-500mm (600-1000mm).

So it's not a large reduction in overall area, and it really didn't impact me when I was using it.

I've never used the RF 600 or 800 f/11 lenses, but I think the AF area is even smaller on those.

Indeed, with the RF 800 the AF area is more restrictive, sometimes posing challenges tracking the eye of an animal that occupies a large part of the frame. I thought this would be dictated by aperture, but apparently not.
