No idea how popular it is overall, but at its low summer sales price point it was enough to move me from Fuji - I was unexcited about paying high prices for Fuji's higher-end lenses, I'd had quality issues a body (various things falling off an X-T20), and being a past Olympus user I was a bit worried by niche mounts. I got the RP, 24-105 STM, 35/1.8, and 85/2, and now am pondering the 50/1.8 and in future the 70-200/4. There are some downsides compared to my past X-T2 (FPS, size of EVF, silent shutter), but also some noticeable upsides, and for my amateur purposes it more than does the job. I will stay in Canon RF, so the RP did its job.
