I think we all agree the RP was marketed as a product for mass. It was targeted to be the best selling product. With this camera, Canon gave the opportunity to join the FF experience to almost every average consumer. Following a similar strategy like the original 6D in the past (entry-level FF).

Do you think RP sales will blow up in the upcoming years, like again the 6D?

Worked for me. I have pretty basic needs in a camera so I never considered paying for FF. I always shot crop cameras. When Rp dropped under $1000 with lens, I decided to give it a go. FF for crop prices? Why not?    (Was tempted by A7 II at $999 for a while, but it's a very old model and I can't stand Sony ergos and menus)

There's no chance I will ever spend $2000+ on a camera. So if the Rp line dies, I'll be shooting older used cameras forever.
