Nikon 400 F2

wow!! that would be interesting!

In 1981 Nikon introduced a 300mm f2.

The specification says it weighed 15 pounds 6.9 ounces (7 kg) - without adding the weight of a body.

Moose says production stopped in 1990.

I handled one once ca. 1984 or so in the NPS booth at a sporting event - I think it was the great big golf tournament that used to be held at Butler National in Oak Brook, IL.  I never again bitched about the size of my issued 300/2.8.
