I'm thinking they will depreciate at the same rate they have in the past when a new version comes out.  If they were not at all compatible with R bodies, then yes I'd be fearing EF glass would be taking a real dive in the next several years.  But the fact they work brilliantly means there will still be demand for them for a long time yet.

Stellar optics never go out of style as long as there are current cameras to mount them on.  EF lenses can adapt to almost anything mirrorless, so rest assured your lenses won't become worthless anytime soon.
