Mallard Duck Crash Lands for Nikon Z 7II
51

OH NO! It's ICE and Slippery! This mallard came in for a landing at Tingley Park in Albuquerque on Xmas Day. He didn't realize there was a thin coat of ice on the pond. I think he was trying to impress his mate (she was gliding in behind him). How embarrassing! I think he was hoping that we didn't get any photos :-). This was the first time I had used the Z7 II which is a rental while I await my NPS order. Photographed some "birds in flight" and other subjects with good results. AF seems improved over the Z7. Viewfinder blackout much improved (never noticed it). Overall, seems like a good update. Not letting go of my D850 anytime soon though. Click on image to see better detail.. Cropped and resized to 1800 ppi. ISO 1600, 1/3200 sec, f/4.5, Nikon 300mm PF lens with FTZ adapter.
