Wow, thank you so much for this! I gather it is a Google type of service holding retailers items. I noticed Gmarket listings as well and such good prices!

It's similar to Google Shopping but you'll see some results are from Naver's own Smart Store, which is like eBay stores.

What is your advice on using this?

I find sorting by "registration date" (등록일순) useful, to see newly listed items first.

The "price comparison" (가격비교) tab is helpful for narrowing down searches. It shows fewer results, but tries to only list unique entries, so you can find the name of a specific product in Korean, and then use that to search.

Should I stick with platinum sellers?

It's a good idea. Also, check my answer to the next question.

How do I know which condition is the item in / or are all listings for new/refurbished products?

상품타입(전체) Product Type (All)

  • 중고보기 Show only used
  • 중고제외 Excluding used
  • 해외직구제외 Excluding direct import

Used items have a small blue "used" (중고) indicator next to the title.

Direct import (i.e. shipped from elsewhere than South Korea) items have a blue indicator too, which says "overseas" (해외). You'll probably want to avoid those. In any case, it's worth checking AliExpress for lower prices.

There's no filtering option for refurbished.

Any idea of how much VAT and custom tax in UK for a value of max £1000?

I've not looked into UK taxes. If you were to use a forwarding service, they could likely tell you what taxes would be incurred.
