While trying a friend’s RP, I noticed that after pressing the shutter button, the image pauses in evf less than briefly. It’s annoying with moving subjects. Don’t know if this effect is reduced in continuous. Was in single shot. The question is for those who had or still have the RP and the R6, is that effect similar in the R6? In either single shot or continuous.

You need to make sure the viewfinder is not in a power-saving mode. Look under the wrench/yellow menu under tab 4 and "Viewfinder performance." You have a choice between Smooth and Power Saving.

You probably also want to turn off "Image Review" under the camera/red menu tab 1.

One problem I have with the viewfinder is that there is a bit of lag between what you see in the viewfinder and what gets captured. You are seeing a delayed version of the real world. This obviously makes taking a picture of a fast-moving subject difficult. I understand this delay is a lot less with the higher end models but I have not tried it.

Once set using Karl’s good suggestions above, I find there is no EVF issues in the RP or R6 - even with fast moving subjects.
