raw developement to jpg software improves over the years so todays raw processors are better than yesteryear. and often get better than the oem in camera.Every time you open a jpg and close it, some more compression takes place. you can always keep a copy jpg archive which you leave untouched, until; your processing skills improve over time and you may want to revisit a previoius rendition. RAW files do essentially remain unchanged. dont know if the embedded jpg raw file is compressed with each save.

Ive regretted not saving raw files down the road. Of course if none of this is important to you, dont save raw.

no one but you will know or look down on you! its not a religion any more. the flame wars about this have thankfully petered out despite attempts to revive them
