Every camera has its "pro" points and "cons" points. It is totally fair for a review site to point out the "downside" of any piece of gear, but keep in mind that it usually does so without the pragmatic context of specific use-cases, including large-format printing. Like everything in life, behind any gear choice is a set of considerations and compromises based on priorities around intended usage and realistic budget.

What's so bad about image quality from smartphone cameras? Just like a bicycle is not inherently bad. Sure, comparatively speaking, a bicycle cannot move as fast as an SUV, but what is truly bad is the person using the bicycle for the wrong reasons or the SUV for some other wrong reasons. Getting stuck in downtown New York City traffic at mid-day and blaming the huge truck that you are driving is not the smart thing to do.

On the other hand, many mediocre images can be produced using full-frame cameras. Also, a technically excellent image does not necessarily mean it is worthy or memorable.

"Tools for tasks." The professional photographers I know do not lug the heavy camera gear with them when they go on vacation. For online sharing with relatives and friends, they don't need the camera bodies and lenses that they use to earn a living.

Regarding the Panasonic FZ300 in particular, visit Flickr to view the beautiful images that people all over the world have created with this wonderful camera:
