Can I check, is this studio or else environmental portraiture, with the 85mm?

Personally, I'd aim for a 135 prime for tighter portrait shots, but feel the 135/2 DC is too specialised, and although tempted by the 180/2.8, lack of VR at that FL is a downer. I don't think I'd want to use the 70-200/2.8 for portraits good as it is, simply because of the weight and intimidation factor for more informal contexts.

However, I don't expect any other lens options, simply because the 2.8 and 4 zooms are so good and versatile.

The 135 f2 is fantastic for portrait, weddings and a zillion things. Street shots, landscape you name it. It is sharper than the zoom and small, light and bright.

My sigma 180 2.8 Macro lens has VR. Also an excellent alternative.
I never felt initmidated by any lens but the impossible to protect 14-24
