Viltrox will announce the 24/1.8, 35/1.8, 50/1.8 AF for E-mount tomorrow (Dec 25), and they also have 28/1.8 and 16/1.8 on their roadmap scheduled for 2021. There is a good chance we will see those lenses on Z mount soon. Their lineup is heavily overlapping with the 1.8 S-line at the moment, but I could see them as a budget option for people who want to cover focal lengths they don't use very often.

Now I'm just waiting for Tamron to bring their f/2.8 trinity to Z-mount.

Link for the announcement?

They were announced on weibo just few minutes ago (in Chinese only):

https://weibo.com/ttarticle/p/show?id=2309404585960422637610#_0

  • 24/1.8 FE 340g 2499¥ (~$382)
  • 35/1.8 FE 340g 2199¥ (~$337)
  • 50/1.8 FE 350g 1999¥ (~$306)

All come with aperture ring, STM motor and USB-C (finally they are starting to get rid of micro USB ports) port for firmware updates.

The Viltrox 50 will find it hard to compete with the Z 50/1.8S which is already very cheap and excellent, but the 24 and 35 are half of the price of the 1.8S so they should work well as budget options. Well, when they come to the Z-mount eventually.
