I think that main question here is if he really have below average sample. On high MP camera I think that is not so bad results. Also I would strongly adviced OP to use tripod and shutter with timer for more precise results.

Thanks. I’ll use a release and tripod in the future.  But yes , you summarized it correctly.  Just trying to figure out if the lens is average at better.   I’m a firm believer in non paying several hundred or thousands dollars for a below average copy.
