I've done Ubuntu, Mint and more but was less than satisfied. Arch is great but very complicated.

Manjaro is a super-easy to setup derivative and I've been running it on multiple systems for several years now with very, very few problems. Most of the issues I have experienced resulted from my adoption of newer kernels. If you want near perfect stability stick with the Long Term Support (LTS) kernels.

I don't like complex or resource hungry desktops so I've settled on Xfce which is very simple and lightweight but highly effective.
