Sharpness with the Z6

Not another post about sharpness! Well, here we go:

Me: I'm a new photographer, and new to the Nikon Z6. I specialize in caves - think low-light with an external flash.

Problem: My photos are never as sharp as I feel they could be. The focus is usually decent, while the frame of the image is blurred.

Explanation: I've tried all f-levels with not much benefit. I can't go up to the higher f-levels because of the low light. I usually compensate with the high iso. Long exposures are not typically optimal because the photos involve a subject, and the flash only illuminates for a millisecond.

Equipment: Nikon z6 camera, nikon z-series 14-24mm lens, Godox external flash

Question: Here's a sample photo. Critique me: how could I make this sharper?
