Understanding colour profiles
Understanding colour profiles
Looking for some help to try and understand the way colour profiles are used throughout the process of home printing. I'm an artist and have always sent away to a lab to get prints of my artwork done but i've recently bought an epson p700 as i want more control of the process and colour management. I just can't get my head around which colour profiles to use and when to switch to them. i'm only using 1 printer which is the epson p700, and 99% of the time i'll be using canson rag photographique paper. I have the icc profile downloaded, what's the difference between 'assigning profile' 'converting to profile', using proof colours all the time or is it even possible to change my monitor profile to the icc profile? why would i start in photoshop editing it in one profile only to change it to the icc profile in proof colours just before i print and see the image change slightly? many thanks in advance
