Adrian,

My home-built components are not as creative as yours I put together a T-adapter to mount the camera to the draw tube, and I added a phone mount because I use Polar Align Pro to locate DSOs.

I took a nice piece of rosewood, and added camera mount (part of a tripod head) and another phone mount. The assembly sits directly on my motorized equatorial mount.

Sounds good to me that

Regarding the vibration you are getting, unless a motor bearing or gears have worn, it must be a resonant frequency somewhere. This is most common on long structures or single pivot mounts with long things extending from it.

An old mechanics trick to identify the location was to rest the blunt end of a screwdriver to your ear and then place the screwdriver tip on various locations. Better still if you happen to own a doctors stethoscope

interesting. I might try to do a better job balancing the OTA. The camera mounts onto a low-end focused that has some play in it unless it is locked. But, locking the focuser sometimes throws it out of focus. 🤦
