looks good except for that big log at the bottom, i find it distracting

I’m going to hike 9 miles round trip up 2,200 ft on the way out and drag that log out of the way and try again. 👍

I almost never do anything to change my landscapes. But one day I was hiking next to the Merced river and there was a huge log protruding from the bank into the river, and I could see that out on the log would be a nice photo down the river, but there was a dead branch from a tree coming out above the log and hanging down in the middle of the shot. There was no way I could shoot around it. So I found the dead branch and bent it around away from the river. Then I went out onto the log (a bit dangerous in the cold Merced River in the wintertime with nobody else around) and took my photo.

I am not saying you should have done this to the log in your photo. My situation was a foreground dead branch hanging down in the middle of a panoramic image down a river, obviously spoiling a great shot. A distracting log in the lower portion of your shot is not a big deal to me.

EDIT: Actually I prefer the log in your shot than no log.

Too much like work. All one has to do is edit it out in any of today's competent software packages where you can "Heal" it right out. No biggie.

Name the gear and I've probably owned it and used it.
