boogisha,

You seem to have found the same things that I have, except that you have Windows while I use a Mac.

I don't find it surprising that the basic C1 operating file structure is basically the same (or very close) as I would not expect a software firm to want to invent its' application twice.

I just thought it through and said to myself that others may want to know what I had found, so I wrote this original post.

I leave it up to others to decide if they want to try the technique. After all not everybody is as informed about computer operating systems and their structures. Nevermind being willing to delve into the nitty-gritty of directory structures etc..

I hope that it is useful to those who would like to do it but don't know where to start.

Keep being inquisitive. When I retired from communication equipment and system design I needed something to keep the brain active. Being inquisitive helps to do just that.

Big thanks to RetiringGuy and Boogisha for these tips. I tried this using C1 ver 20 (for MacOs) and got Classic Negative available for the XT2, XPro2 and X100F. Very pleased! Today I downloaded C1 ver 21 and started making the changes only to find they no longer work. Maybe I did something wrong but I tried several times using the XT3 files (as I did on C1 ver 20) and changing names to either XT2 or X100F. Did not work. Anyone else tried this with the new Capture One 21? Cheers, John G
