Reliable, Affordable Flash Setup

I do business headshots, but it's not a huge part of my business. For years I did them with continuous light. I've started with flash. Right now my flash setup is an older Canon 7D using the built-in popup flash to trigger a 580EX Speedlite and two cheap Bolt VD-410 flashes for fill and hair light. They don't all fire off consistently every time which isn't a huge problem if I am shooting 1-3 people. If I'm shooting 30 people I can't keep re-shooting hoping the flashes will go off. The combo does weird things too like if I increase the flash output on a Bolt sometimes the photo gets darker instead.

I also own a Canon 6D MarkII.

Looking for an affordable, but reliable multi-flash firing setup for either camera. I can't afford top of the line stuff. So whether it's Pocket Wizards or something more reliable than the pop up flash trigger, would you have a recommended setup for me? The Bolt's have a PC Sync Port but if you think I have to have different wireless flashes I'll have an open mind about it. I just can't afford two more $450 Canon Speedlites at this time.

THANKS!!!
