The Sigma 28-105 f2.8-4.0

I had been looking for this lens for a while (several years!). The first time I used one was at PMA around 2004 or 2005 timeframe. I bought one a few years later and it gave out about 5 years ago. I looked all over - contacted all the subsidiaries, looked online but no one had it. Some one brought the lens up on a post and on a lark I googled it for sale. Low and behold I found two! One was for abut $175 and one was for $57 and $6 for shipping which I bought. It set ignored in a cabinet for a while. I finally decided to pull it out and see how good/bad it was. I started with the SD14 as I figured it would not be good enough for the Merrills or Quattros. Looked pretty good so I decided to put it on the Quattro H. AF did not always hit it so I found that regardless of focal length I coud line up the infinity mark with the focal length and it was quite accurate. It has softness in the corners but as would be expected the 14/15/9/10 would be more foregiving. Here are some sample images - first 3 with SD14 and last 3 with SDQ H.
