Sensor RGB to color without compromise matrix?
1

Hi,

My understanding is that sensor RGBs are normally converted XYZ(D50) using a compromise matrix, like described here: https://www.strollswithmydog.com/color-from-capture-to-eye/

But it seems that some companies take a different approach. I am essentially considering Capture One. It has been said that color conversion in Capture One is not matrix based. I don't know if it is true, of course. Just someone claiming something doesn't make it a fact.

But, if we assume that a compromise matrix is not used, what approach would be used in that case?
Best regards

Erik
