If this is in the wrong forum, Sorry. I was wondering if a Nikkor Q lens can be used on a D5600 body?

Thanks

Nikkor Q points to an AI lens like the AI 20)mm f/4 .

Lenses badged as Nikkor Q are Pre-AI lenses with 4 elements. Such lenses were made for Nikon Rangefinders, Nikon SLRs, and Bronica SLRs. In F-mount, that included such lenses as early versions of the 135mm f/3.5, 200mm f/4, and 400mm f/4.5 lenses.

Nikon's FX and the DX models: D500 D7200 D7100 D7000 D300 D200 support original functionality including metering of the AI lenses. not D7500 !

While that's true for non-CPU AI lenses, pre-AI lenses can not be safely mounted on any of those bodies except the Df without modification.

On the D5600 and other D3x00 and D5x00 bodies, many pre-AI lenses, including the 3 Q lenses, can be mounted, but they will only function in unmetered manual focus mode.

Don't mind the manual mode... want to use it for astrophotography. So, if I am understanding this correctly, I can use this lens on my D5600.
