It's good to see your post.

I'd like to follow it to see what you choose Mikan.

My new-to-me Sony RX100-7 has a steep learning curve for me.

I liked my Canon G9 very much, but that was long ago.

I think I'll wait out. Hoping there will be a new version of G5X with a better AF in near future. I'm afraid I might have gotten spoiled with Sony's fast AF, and also I'm used to Sony's menu.

The AF is just about the only major advantage the Sony has over the Canon, pretty much everything else, whether it be price, ergonomics, menu, lens (I prefer more light to more zoom), superb touchscreen and natural color rendering appears to be better on the Canon.

...and the AF on the Canon is not bad at all, read the reviews!

I helped a friend buy a Canon G5X. I was really impressed with that camera.

The M2 would be even better. Back then I wasn't interested in buying any cameras. Stuff happens.

Oh the lens! Not only it's longer than RX100 M5, but also it stays brighter than Sony as you zoom. Why can't Sony do the same!? 😜

The ergonomics are better too I like the grip

Edit: I don't know why Sony can't do the same. I was impressed with the M50 Canon. It felt so good in my hands. It was small too. Have you considered the "M" camera?
