In the Canon RF forum people are discussing the use of the Canon 100-500 with TCs on the R5 and it seems to work quite good.

I have a z6 and when the 100-400 S lens will be released I would get one with a T,"c ( most probably the 1.4). Looking at the size of the lens compared to other lenses on the roadmap, most probably the 100-400 will be f5.6 or f6.3 on the long end . Mostly I will use that combo for not movin subjects or big animals .

What is your opinion? Will such a f5.6/f6.3 lens work acceptable on a Z6 with a TC or is there a big difference in AF capabilities between Z6 and R5? ( or Z6 II)

TC's are designed for telephoto lenses such as primes and high quality zooms.  So far the TC's work fantastic with the 70-200 S and hopefully with the upcoming 100-400 as well.  Focusing speed could be slightly slower at the f6.3 end.

The first digital image was made in the late '60's for NASA, as a way to record images of Mars. Each "square" was represented by three numbers, corresponding to the red, green, and blue hue on a scale of 0 to 255. This eliminated the need to ship film back to Earth.
