That's a beautiful looking lens! I love using vintage glass on my R5, it's been a few months since I last bought one and I'm sort of itching to acquire another... Can you explain more about the auto focussing with this lens please? What adaptor are you using?

As far as I know there is no autofocus adapter for the RF mount so you need to focus the lens manually by turning the ribbed ring on the adapter, which in turn drives the focusing mechanism through some internal gearing. It is not a pleasant experience but works well with the nice viewfinder and manual focusing aids of the R5. There is an autofocus adapter for the Sony E mount, but from what I hear it is pretty bad.

I use the Kipon Contax G to RF adapter. Fotodiox also makes one but I was less happy with that.

The Planar is vintage glass but its rendering is very modern. If you are into the real vintage look then check out the C Sonnar 1,5/50, which is the opposite. It is one of the most beautifully rendering normal lenses in my opinion.

Interesting! Thanks
