Not fair to compare Nikon with Tesla

Negative narrative in the absence of any other marketing narrative is expected. Nikon is the only one who has control over this. Nikon needs to articulate its forward vision and messaging and keep the market excited. It's also acceptable to make losses through periods of transition as long as the forward strategy is sound. Tesla took 10 yrs to make a profit, but never stopped the market messaging and excitement. As a Nikon customer since 1970, I am at a loss as to what their game plan is.

Tesla is a visionary company founded by a visionary leader. Nikon is a conservative company and just aims to produce “reliable” products despite being behind its competition in terms of innovation and features. I would compare Nikon with a Steel company that produces quality reliable steel, but do not ask it to do anything more.
